Meet Josh!
Josh Schmutz is the Vice President of Mid America RV in Carthage, Missouri. Mid America RV carries hundreds of new and used RVs and operates a full-service service department as well. When Josh isn’t running MARV, he enjoys traveling whenever he can with his lovely fiancé Sarah. He is an avid firearms enthusiast, and also enjoys supporting and cheering on his favorite team the Kansas City Chiefs! As a proud member of Chiefs Kingdom, Josh frequently takes the Mid America RV Gameday Tailgate Trailer to the home games. After a Chiefs victory, Josh enjoys toasting to them with a good glass of bourbon.
What brought you to Storm Cloud Marketing?
My friendship with owner Dustin Storm. We have managed to turn our friendship into a great business relationship as well. Storm’s team is filled with talented, creative, hardworking people that share our vision from start to finish.
What services do you utilize the Storm Team for?
A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Storm has worked on everything from graphic design, social media management, digital advertising, traditional media, inventory photos, and video production.
Who is your favorite Storm team member? (We won’t tell!)
Jessi. She effectively wrangles my team on inventory picture day and saves me a lot of headaches! Jessi also created our kick-ass new logo.
What are 3 of the most important apps/websites you use for your business every day?
- Apple Calendar
- Google Suites
- Microsoft Office
Who has been the most influential person in your career?
John Elliott. He saw potential in everyone that worked for him. For me, he turned a high school drop-out into a successful business owner. I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity he gave me and the wealth of knowledge that he imparted to me.
What is one piece of advice you would give someone who is interested in pursuing a career in your field?
Be patient yet diligent. Efforts now will produce results. However, the longer you consistently work at it the more rewarding it becomes.
What is the most important thing you have learned at your job/business?
Nothing is more important than your people. Great people are the reason we are successful.
What is one thing you couldn’t live without and why?
Air. I enjoy breathing.
If you could have lunch with a celebrity, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Kevin Brittingham. He is an innovative man with loads of knowledge about firearms and building a successful business. Although many in his position would stay away from public interaction, he also thrives on engaging his fans while keeping his haters in check. It’s a fine line to walk, especially as a business owner in 2022.
